The main project challenge
The online currency exchange market offered no ready-made analytical tools.
- The company’s operations were based on:
- a high volume of daily transactions,
- sensitivity to exchange rate movements,
- the need for precise control over transaction efficiency and sales activity.
BI SYSTEM FOR THE CURRENCY EXCHANGE PLATFORM – TECHNOLOGY

The automated transaction register imports data from the PostgreSQL database and recalculates it in real time.
The dashboard enables:
- volume analysis by currency, period and client type,
- review of transaction execution assigned to individual dealers,
- flexible data filtering using Excel slicers.
- The system allows quick identification of trends and variances.
Data is grouped by:
- dealer,
- transaction type and value,
- execution period,
- client segment.
The solution supports sales performance evaluation and the settlement of the sales team’s work.

The dashboard presents changes in revenue and transaction volume over time.
The following are taken into account:
- seasonality,
- differences between client groups,
- exchange rate volatility and its impact on the scale of operations.

The BI system enables not only historical data analysis but also active support for operational decisions.
The user receives:
- real-time visibility into the scale and structure of transactions,
- the ability to quickly detect drops in activity or inefficiencies,
- a tool for day-to-day sales management and client relationship management.

The BI system ran continuously for many years without requiring any further modifications, updates or technical support.
During that time it:
- processed tens of thousands of currency transactions,
- handled operations with a combined value exceeding billions of Polish złoty,
- maintained full data accuracy — with zero discrepancies down to the single grosz.
